What a charging operator collects, why it needs it, and what you can ask it to do with your data.
1. Information we collect
Operating a charging network involves three broad categories of information.
- Account information — name, email address, phone number, and where applicable the organisation you represent and your billing details.
- Session information — which charging point was used, when the session started and ended, energy delivered, and the resulting charge. Where you have connected a vehicle to an account, this is associated with that vehicle.
- Technical information — device type, browser, approximate location derived from IP address, and pages viewed. This is used to keep the service working and to understand which parts of it are used.
2. How we use it
Information is used to deliver charging sessions and bill for them, to provide support when something goes wrong, to plan where new sites are needed, to meet legal and tax obligations, and to detect misuse of the network.
Location data is used to show nearby stations. It is processed on the device where possible and is not retained as a movement history.
3. Sharing and disclosure
Personal information is not sold. It is shared only with the parties needed to run the service:
- payment processors, to take and reconcile payments;
- host site owners, in aggregate form, where a site operates under a revenue-share arrangement;
- infrastructure and support vendors bound by contract to process data only on instruction;
- authorities, where disclosure is required by law and the request is valid.
4. Retention
Session and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Account information is kept while the account is open and for a limited period afterwards to handle disputes. Technical logs are kept for a short operational window and then deleted.
5. Your rights
Subject to the law that applies to you, you can ask for a copy of the information held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted where there is no overriding obligation to keep it, withdraw consent to marketing, and object to certain processing. Requests are answered within the statutory period.
6. Security
Access to personal data is limited to staff who need it. Data is encrypted in transit, and at rest where the storage layer supports it. Charging equipment communicates with the platform over authenticated connections. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, you would be notified in line with the applicable rules.
7. Cookies
This website uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function. Analytics or advertising cookies, if introduced, would be set only after consent and would be listed here.
8. Children
The service is not directed at children and accounts are not knowingly created for anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
Material changes would be announced on this page and, where the change affects how existing data is used, notified directly to account holders before it takes effect.
10. Contact
